The Kumudam Reporter magazine recently conducted a survey in regard to the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu and the results are heartening for the BJP. Many thanks to Blogger Gajamani for translating the survey and sharing it with the Mission272+ community. India272+ has extracted the below from his blog for the benefit of all volunteers.
According to the survey, vote shares for parties minus any alliances should fall thus
ADMK- 33.1%
SMK-26.5%
BJP- 17.8%
DMDK-7.3%
PMK-5.1%
Congress-4.3%
MDMK- 2.3%
The report acknowledges that surge in BJP supporters is due to the Modi effect and ‘not only educated voters, but even rural uneducated voters appear to be aware of Narendra Modi.’ Such is the surge in enthusiasm for Modi that voters in Pudokkotai who have so far voted for the Congress responded that this time around they would cast their vote in favour of Modi. The report quotes a respondent, “If India has to progress, then we need a change, and we think Modi can deliver that change”. Also, several members from the Muslim community from Ramanathapuram district also picked Modi.
