BBC recognized how young Indians are volunteering for the BJP to make its digital media campaigning a success and to make the BJP’s Mission272+ a reality. The story featured two young professionals Anuj Gupta and Akhilesh Mishra.
Anuj Gupta a volunteer for BJP’s digital campaign said that he used to work for KPMG and has experience of working across India and numerous foreign countries too. He brings with him strong analytical skills. He added that his specialty in business consultancy was to turn around businesses and he feels he can do the same for the political party as well. He added that he may be able to play a big part in turning around the nation.
Akhilesh Mishra said that successful young Indians want India to rise as a whole and they want to chart a different path from what has been happening in India.
This shows that the young professionals who come from different backgrounds like business consulting and marketing are seriously considering an active role in shaping India’s future. The story says that young professionals have volunteered their time, to monitor social media and blog, to send across message to the young voters. This is of prime importance as 2/3rd of Indians belong to the age group 18 to 35.
The two volunteers who featured in the BBC news story were flooded with congratulatory messages from fellow Mission 272+ volunteers.
