Mr. Narendra Modi kick started his campaign in Karnataka for the 2014 general elections by addressing “Bharatha Gellisi” Rally at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru.
BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh and Karnataka BJP chief Shri Prahalad Joshi with other BJP dignitaries were also present at the event.
Mr. Singh addressed the enthusiastic crowd in his characteristic style. He said that the huge gathering at the rally shows the mood of the nation. He asked the Congress why under the UPA government India did not progress but the other nations across the globe did.
He slammed the UPA government for poverty, unemployment and rising income disparity. He said the BJP has an action plan to solve the people’s problems. He added that the Congress singles out Mr. Modi over the 2002 riots but is lenient with all the Congress CMs and the CMs of their allies under whose leadership riots keep happening and that too of gruesome nature.
“We don’t want to instill a sense of fear in you like Congress does. We want to instill a sense of confidence,” said Mr. Singh to the crowd. He said the Congress has adopted the Divide and Rule Policy of the British after independence.
Mr. Modi began his speech his Kannada among thundering applause from the crowd.
