Mr. Modi also talked about his meeting with the PM and his plan to change 500 cities of India and to focus on solid waste management and waste water treatment. He said that we need to have a two way model so that cities as well as villages both prosper and no conflict arises. He said that I told PM to manage solid waste in such a way that we produce organic manure for farmers living in the surrounding villages of the cities.

He said that the best gift to Gandhiji on his 150th birth year would be to ensure that all the cities and villages are clean. He said that if we use the contribution from people-public-private-partnership model we can change the face of our villages and cities. He said that effective use of man power will ensure that we have technocrats to solve our practical problems.

He said we need to have new colleges and universities for urban planning and development. Futuristic thinking Mr. Modi said that we will need police force trained to manage security law and order in the cities as problems in cities will be very different from those faced in the villages. Mr. Modi said that he has a small dream for Gandhinagar. When world is talking of global warming he wants to make Gandhinagar a solar city.

Mr. Modi said that we are viewing two cities in one these days. One which is developed and one part which is without even basic amenities. This is a disastrous situation. He said we should make rain water harvesting a part of our system so that basic facilities are available for all in sustainable way. To save on the energy he said that we need to get our mass transportation system in place. This he said is the need of hour.
