India272+ turns its focus on the specially abled

At India272+ our volunteers clearly believe in leveraging every Citizen’s strength to achieve the Mission272+goal.

So it gives us great pleasure to introduce the group for ‘Empowering the Specially-Abled‘. Created by Mission272+ Volunteer Pranav Desai, the forum aims to bring together ideas and opinions that aid the specially abled. This is a section of our society that often loses out to the politics of caste and minority. Mr. Desai has also been instrumental in gearing support for Mission272+

A key focus of the group has been on generating inputs to amend the draft for the new law published in 2012, replacing the “Persons with Disability, 1995.

Our volunteers have already started sharing their ideas for this noble cause. Below are a few suggestions.

Mental revolution in order to change the mentality towards the specially abled in the society.

Strict implementation of reservation policy for specially abled students at all levels with special focus in private institutions.

Penal provision in the PWD Act so that the guilty can be punished for violating the rights of the specially abled.

Mr. Desai has also set up a task for Mission272+ Volunteers to connect to NGOs who work for the specially abled. For all our supporters and volunteers looking to contribute more towards this issue please visit and join the group.

Please note you need to be a Registered Volunteer to be able to provide inputs
