Narendra Modi flags off Run for Unity

Kudos to the spirit of India as Narendra Modi flagged off the Run for Unity across 1100+ destinations in India with 40 lakh + participants. The Run for Unity was organized to pay glorious tributes to the Iron Man of India Sardar Patel on his 63rd death anniversay.

The event was also organized to create awareness about building the world’s largest statue called ‘Statue of Unity’ to permanently ink an undeletable place for Sardar in the mind of Indians. Mr. Modi flagged off the Run for Unity from the Navlakhi Grounds in Vadodara. Simultaneous runs were flagged off across India with the live streaming of Mr. Modi’s speech being telecasted.

Mr. Modi on the ocassion said that unity in diversity is our strength and not weakness further adding that diveristy is not just our identity but our tradition. Paying glorious tribute to Sardar he added that he is the best torch bearer for followers of united India. Mr. Modi said that India will need Unity, Good Governance and People’s Participation to become world super power.

He briedfed the huge crowd that this initiative to create awareness about the Statue of Unity will continue till February where in 7 lakh villages will be united and used farm tools made of iron will be collected to build the statue. Also essay writing competitions are being held in schools across India on the topic ‘Mantras of Unity’. Winner students will get in all prize money of 2.5 crores.

He reiterated that only by following the path of unity as suggested by Sardar can a diverse nation like India become world super power. He said like Gujarat India too will progess by opting for ‘Unity, Sadbhavana and Peace’. He concluded his speech by asking people not to evaluate this initiative on political grounds and thanked all the volunteers for taking up this noble cause.

Run for Unity found enthusiasts not only in India but in Hong Kong too. What better proof for the spirited Indian’s unity and the faith in saying ‘United we Stand, Divided we Fall’.
