Base Brand India on our Rich Heritage: Narendra Modi

Mr. Narendra Modi enlightened the audience present at the platinum jubilee celebrations of the International Advertising Association (IAA) in Mumbai with his knowledge about marketing.

He said that today the whole world is talking about conserving the natural resources. We had inherited the concept from our age old traditions. Mr. Modi recalled an incident about Mahatma Gandhi that he had studied about in school.

He said that even when Sabarmati River used to flow at its full glory Gandhi used to talk of conserving even half a glass of water. Gandhi used to say that he is entitled to use natural resources only so much as to satisfy his need.

Indians are never taught how to milk or exploit nature added Mr. Modi. He said that at the time when the world is struggling to find ways to combat global warming India should use its age old thinking to provide solutions to the world.

He said that we will have to present our ways to the world in a scientific way and change the terminology our ancestors used but the truth will remain the same. He also pointed out that India has such rich architectural heritage. Why can’t we build brand India on our heritage that is unmatched in the whole world?

He said that what is just a building for us build by some king the world finds its amazing as it has huge interest in this rich cultural heritage of India. Mr. Modi was sad that we have never taken pride in our heritage.

He said India has the world oldest port and city with signboards. He quizzed the audience why can’t we tell the whole world we were so developed more than 5000 years back. He said that he was at total loss that we have such a glorious past why we are not using it to build brand India.

He said that Dholavira in Kutch Gujarat has remains of a sports stadium with a sitting capacity for 5000. He said and to think of it we had such modern social civilization since c. 2650 BCE.
